a village and parish in Mid-Lothian, three miles west of Edinburgh, near the line of the Edinburgh and Glasgow railway. The parish church of Corstorphine, which has been recently restored, is one of the most ancient ecclesiastical buildings in Scotland. A little to the south of the village are the ruins of an old castle, formerly the seat of the Forresters, barons of Corstorphine. Pop. of parish (1851) 1499, of village 380.
