a Swiss village in the canton of Berne, 28 miles S.E. from the capital of the same name, and situated on the left bank of the Aar, between the lakes of Thun and Brienz, two miles distant from each. It has of late become a favourite resort of the English from its beauty of position, pleasant climate, and the cheapness of lodging and provisions.
