INTERLOCUTOR

Volume 12 · 60 words · 1860 Edition

a term used in Scotland to denote any of those judgments or orders pronounced in the course or preparation of a suit, which do not finally conclude the cause. They are sometimes called interlocutory orders or judgments, to distinguish them from the judgment by which the merits of the suit are ultimately exhausted, which is sometimes called the final interlocutor.
