a town of Spain, in the province of Toledo, 18 miles S.E. of Madrid. The streets are wide, but unpaved; and there are three market-places. The town has a church, a town-house, a prison, and several schools. The inhabitants are chiefly employed in agriculture, in the manufacture of articles from rushes, in flour and oil mills, and in soap-works. Pop. 5094.
