or NOWY-GYCIN, a town of Austria, in Moravia, stands on the Titsch, 26 miles E. of Olmutz. It is well built; and has an old castle, three churches (one of which is ancient, and in the Byzantine style), a town-hall, and several schools and hospitals. The inhabitants are principally employed in the manufacture of woollen stuffs, in which some trade is carried on. Pop. 9000.
