a town of Naples, in the province of Bari, stands on a steep cliff hollowed out by the sea into caverns, and commanding a wide view over a rich and well-cultivated region, 20 miles S.E. of Bari. It contains several churches, an abbey, and a convent. Some coins and other remains have been found in the vicinity. Pop. 5000.
