a town of New Granada, capital of a province in the department of Boyaca, 65 miles S.W. of Pamplona. Though containing some good houses, it is for the most part ill-built and dirty. Cotton cloth and straw hats are made here; and a considerable trade is carried on. Pop. 12,000.
