a town of France, in the department of Ardèche, on the right bank of the Rhone, which is crossed by a fine suspension-bridge, 9 miles N.N.W. of Valence. It has an old castle, now used as a prison, a law court, a national college; and carries on an active trade in timber, wines, woollen and silk fabrics. Pop. 4861.
