a town of Ireland, capital of the county of Meath, on the left bank of the Boyne, 25 miles N.W. of Dublin. It is an ancient town; and had formerly walls, parts of which still remain. There are also the ruins of a large and strong castle, and of an old abbey. It has a parish church, Roman Catholic chapel, schools, court-house, jail, workhouse, &c. Trim has some trade in rural produce. Pop. 1905.
