a town of Saxony, circle of Leipsic, and 15 miles E. of the town of that name, stands on the right bank of the Mulde, and on the Leipsic-Dresden Railway. The river is here crossed by two bridges, one of which, the Railway Bridge, is 1350 feet long. Wurzen has an old castle, a cathedral founded 1114, and restored 1818; and manufactures of linen and woollen stuffs, beer, paper, and tobacco. Pop. 5621.
